About me

I am an Italian timpanist and percussionist currently based in Zürich, Switzerland. My musical journey began in the local wind band of a small village, where I first discovered my passion for rhythm and sound. What started as a childhood curiosity soon became a life path, leading me to study classical percussion at the Conservatorio G. Verdi di Como, where I earned both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees under the guidance of Paolo Pasqualin, graduating with the highest honors — 110 cum laude and distinction.

I am currently continuing my studies at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste (ZHdK), pursuing a Master of Arts in Specialized Music Performance – Orchestra, with a focus on timpani. I have the privilege of studying with renowned teachers Benjamin Forster, Klaus Schwärzel, and Raphael Christen, who are shaping both my technical and musical development at an advanced level.

Over the years, I have enriched my knowledge through masterclasses with internationally recognised timpanists such as Raymond Curfs, Rainer Seegers, Tom Greenleaves, Andrea Bindi, and Biagio Zoli. Each of these experiences has contributed to my personal and artistic growth, deepening my approach to orchestral playing.

As a performer, I have worked with several professional orchestras across Europe. I recently held a position as an academist at the Komische Oper Berlin, where I also performed as a substitute solo timpanist. My orchestral experience further includes engagements with the Dresdner PhilharmonieTonhalle Orchester ZürichOrchestra della Svizzera ItalianaAccademia Teatro alla Scala, and various youth and university orchestras such as JPON, the 1813 Orchestra from Teatro Sociale di Como and United Soloist Orchestra. Collaborating with these orchestras I had the opportunity to tour extensively across Europe and China, gaining invaluable performance experience and cultural exchange.
